Summer overview part four Goddess, Guns and Gay porn

Oh the things we cling to in our anime watching. I finally get some of the shows I was looking forward to and even though I have found them interesting like I was hoping they would be I wasn’t blown away. This is partially due to the fact I didn’t too much sleep last night, and partially because all three of these shows are comedies and I have seen a number of good ones already in the past week.

The world god only knows Goddesses

Keima Katsuragi has been going about his conquering girls to release the demons inside of them and so continuing to live another day to play dating sims for a while now. Yet now his childhood friend has moved next door to him and she has a goddess living inside her. Overall I can say that this is generally the show that I have enjoyed for the past two seasons although it is very clear that this anime is strictly for those people that are already fans of the franchise as the story actually skips several chapters of the manga.

Stella Women’s Academy, High School Division Class C3

Yura is a shy girl who is also a new student at a prestigious girl’s school. The school also has a survival games club who like all anime clubs is kind of short on members. Long story short, they try to get Yura to join until she reluctantly plays a game and finds is fun. I wasn’t too impressed with the characters in this show although hopefully they will have the chance to grow. On the plus side the short action sequence near the end of the show gives me the impression that this show could work as an action/ sports type of show with cute girls rather than simply being a slice of life show with a shallow guns gimmick.

Watamote

Tomoko Kuroki was ridiculously popular in middle school. She even had a boy talk to her six times. So when she arrives in High school she going to get her own harem of hot guys. However in reality she is incredibly unpopular and has difficulty talking to just about anybody. Watamote is a dark comedy about the life of a lonely girl. Comedy is a genre I have a bit of trouble recommending as people simply have their own sense of humor but what I can definitively say about this show is that the type of humor is rather different from just about anything I have seen before in anime so it is worth checking out at least.
